Want to have a password protect usb...
follow the steps in this post and you will get your password protected usb
Some person want there usb to be password protected . since they have got important files and folders in it .which they dont want to lose
In this method we are not going to download any software we will just use the inbuilt windows feature application Bitlocker Drive Encryption
This is use to make a drive password protected
follow the Steps given
Step 1 - Insert your Usb drive into the computer
Step 2 - Now go to control panel
and from the top most right hand side corner drop down menu select large icons
Step 3 - Now search for BITLOCKER DRIVE ENCRYPTION and launch the application
Step 4 - Now in that search for the usb drive which you want password protected
And for that drive click on Turn on Bitlocker
And for that drive click on Turn on Bitlocker
Step 5 - Windows will ask you to set a password
set a strong password
and click next
Step 6 - There is a chance that you can forgot the password
so for that click on Save the recovery key to a file
and click next
Step 7 - Click on Start Encrypting
That's all ....!!!
From now whenever you will insert your usb in the pc it will open when you provide your password . and there you have a password protected usb
